Our Client trades steel worldwide and provides structured financial services for their customers in various countries. They are based in Switzerland with branch offices and agents throughout Europe, North Africa, Middle East, CIS, Turkey and the Far East. The company was founded in 2009 by a group of entrepreneurs and experienced executives from the steel trading sector. With their in-depth market analysis and extensive networks, they are a reference for producers, customers and media on price and market evolution. They are an innovative company, not only on steel trading, but also in the provision of trade related solutions.

Due to expansion they are seeking to employ a Steel Trader/Steel Sales Agent to help the company to grow within Ethiopia with a particular focus on billets, wire rods and rebar, hot rolled coils, cold rolled coils and hot dip galvanized coils. Typically their Steel Traders/Sales Managers are dynamic and enthusiastic sales professionals with very good presentation skills, who are proactive and entrepreneurial.



Position Purpose:

To grow sales and expand customer relationships with buyers looking to purchase both Long and Flat Products, including; billets, wire rods and rebar, hot rolled coils, cold rolled coils and hot dip galvanized coils

Target countries: Ethiopia

The ideal candidate will be able to:


·         manage sales and the relationship with buyers

·         collect, on a daily basis, inquiries from buyers and potential customers

·         monitor competitors by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules

·         promote the overall success of the Company through improving sales volumes and building positive relationships

·         settle quality claimsProducts targeted include:


·         Billets

·         wire rods and rebar

·         hot rolled coils

·         cold rolled coils

·         hot dip galvanized coils



·         introduce the Company  as a new supplier to buyers

·         prove within 12-18 months to be able to:

§  manage successfully sales

§  assist  in ensuring that the business unit is highly profitable


Required skills:


·         strong relationships with buyers and customers in the region

·         reliable and transparent

·         strong negotiation skills

·         positive attitude and ability to work independently

·         basic steel products technical knowledge


Working location: Flexible within Ethiopia

Preferred backgrounds:


·         experienced sales agent coming from steel trading or steel sales

·         steel traders with strong relationship with buyers and sales oriented

·         experienced sales manager or sales agent coming from steel producer



·         Competitive minimum fixed guaranteed plus commissions
